Sneak Peek @ the Avon Prize Pack

First, off this is only part of the deal. When I reach 500 followers this beauty above will be up for grabs as well as a few other products. Share the love and spread the word and I will drop more sneak peeks as we get more followers. Let's just say the next hint includes something for the kids!

Cabo chips: A healthier alternative to regular tortilla chips

Cabo foods really strive to make healthier snacking options. Tortilla chips in particular. It starts with some of the most basic ingredients, only the best all natural or organic corn, healthy expeller pressed oils and Cabo's special seasonings made with whole ingredients, they don’t use any flavorings natural or artificial. Cabo chips are hand cooked  in small batches and the flavor infusion process makes the tortilla chips less greasy than most other tortilla chips with 0 Trans-Fat  low in sodium and they are also totally vegan!

About CABO

Brady Bunte and his brothers had an epiphany in the late 70's after inspiration took the form of a "perfect" batch of chips. They used to experiment with various ingredients trying to form the perfect chip (they had found a wonderful soy sauce and lime mix that worked for them).

Years later while spending his summers fishing and soaking up the rays along the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Bunte realized that his chips belonged next to coolers on every boat and within arms reach of every hammock. It was a simple idea, it was a good idea, but where to get started?

Since Cabo had been the inspiration ( he was on the beaches of Cabo San Lucas when the idea struck him), it seemed only fitting to begin there as well. Cabo Foods Inc. opened its first factory directly across from the Corona brewery.  The factory became a focal point for the community by creating good jobs and funding charities and schools. A few months after starting in Mexico, Cabo Chips became so successful that the company opened a second factory near the beautiful beaches in sunny Southern California. To this day, Cabo Chips is still owned and operated by the Bunte family.

There is a great newspaper article that was published in the Orange County Register on March 11,2011 it's all bout how this USC grad's student project found it's way to grocery store shelves.

About the Flavors

Original flavor: Cabo Chips original tortilla chip is made from stone ground, 100% non-GMO white corn tortillas are hand cooked in small batches of non-GMO expeller pressed oils.  The tortillas are then splashed with the perfect balance of preservative free soy sauce and real lime juice, which results in an intriguingly flavorful chip that’s lower in fat and sodium than other chip brands.

Blue Corn w/ Sea Salt & Lime: Cabo Chips® Blue Corn Tortilla Chips are the ultimate blue chips - made with organic, stone-ground blue corn tortillas that are cooked in small batches with expeller pressed oils, splashed with a dash of lime and dusted with a pinch of all natural sea salt from the Sea of Cortez.  Cabo Chips® Blue Corn Tortilla Chips have no artificial flavors or colors, no preservatives and no cholesterol and are proven to deliver healthy satisfaction with each and every crispy, crunchy bite.
*GLUTEN FREE

Health Note – Blue corn has been proven to have a high antioxidant content similar to blueberries and more protein than regular white corn

Spicy Chipotle with Soy and Lime: Spicy Chipotle Cabo Chips® are unique in how they are prepared, which is the secret to achieving their zesty flavor. Red chipotle peppers are mixed in non-GMO white corn which is stone ground to make chipotle tortillas.  The chipotle-infused tortillas are then cooked in small batches in expeller pressed oils then splashed with soy sauce and a dash of lime, which results in this intriguingly spicy chip.

You can purchase  these fine chips on their website HERE.

Natural House Cleaning Products Review & Giveaway Ends: 10/14

Natural House are natural household cleaning products that use plant-based ingredients that are eco-friendly, non-toxic and biodegradable to naturally fight the toughest problems you face in your home.  They are made using an eco-friendly cleaning method of probiotics that create a beneficial, odor eating ecosystem to naturally drive out and ingest odors at their source.  Their cleaners contain good probiotics that continue to scour, clean, consume odors, grime, grease and germs and best of all, they continue to do so until your next weekly treatment!  If you are unsure exactly how probiotics work, you can watch this short 2 minute video to find out!  The best part of probiotics is that they continue to clean even after you have stopped cleaning!

We were given the opportunity to review 3 of their products, Sinky, Flushy & Trashy.  Sinky & Flushy break down and digest fats, oil, grease and solid waste to ensure your disposal, pipes, drain lines and septic tanks run smoothly.  Trashy is used in your trash cans to dissolve odors, grease & food scraps.  See here how they work:

As a single parent it's hard to keep up with work,  three children under six, cooking, shopping, cleaning, and all the other things that come with having children and being a responsible adult. Sometimes I do a "quick clean". I clean quickly and efficiently as possible, but sometimes that leaves something to be desired. Sure, the house is clean, but I didn't really put any "elbow grease" into it therefore it sometimes looks worse then it really is... or is it? Even with thorough cleaning and disinfectant how much of those horrendous germs and bacteria are you really killing and how do you know that what you are using is actually working? That's one of the reasons I really like Natural House: you can see the products working.

This is how well they worked:

My sink looked ten times better after just one treatment with Sinky. As you can see the orange "rusty" stuff that has been left behind from my water and food particles is nearly gone. Not bad for a sink that was installed in the 1930's! I love the foamy action - you can see it working, it's also fun to watch if you have nothing better to do. It rises and then falls and you can see the discoloration in the foam so you kow it is taking the "crud" off.

I didn't include a before picture because that is one of the things in my home that is nice: the "throne". It pretty much looked the same after it was done "cleaning" itself (with a swish of the brush by my hands of course). You can seriously see Flushy in full action. This one totally "boils" the toilet water. I was impressed by the visibility of it working. BTW, all that hidden "gunk" under the rim that you can NEVER seem to get, comes of with this stuff. It's like toilet bowl cleaner on steroids, but natural LOL.

Even that bathroom trash can that bags never make their way into got a face lift. Everything from dirty diapers, to empty bath product containers, to well other things find their way into the trash can including dog hair and what have you. All that grime build up and aside from using straight up bleach and nearly knocking yourself out with the fumes: this does the trick. I swear they put magic pixie dust in this stuff. Trashy really cleaned up the can. The proof is in the photos! I never even wiped it out, just rinsed it. These products definitely save me time and money.

BUY THEM:
You can purchase them directly from Natural house HERE as well.

Natural House cleaning products come in a 1 month supply (that is 4 uses-one a week) and best of all, they are so affordably priced at just $4.99 each!  You can purchase these products on Natural House website or you can win your own 30-day supply of each of these natural household cleaning products thanks to the generosity of Natural House.

I've been slacking....

*Huge sigh* Well, I've been slacking. I certainly need to play "catch-up" with my blog. I've been absolutely exhausted! I haven't been sleeping well- weird dreams that I cannot remember, just I wake up more tired then when I finally fell asleep at god knows what time. I've also been on a entering giveaways kick with Christmas being just around the corner and me still being out of work, I'm hoping to get lucky and win a few things to take some of the edge off of trying to cope with a very small holiday. My children don't get a ton of things for the holidays, but I have always managed to at least get them one "big" gift worth around $50.00 and about 6 smaller gifts all under $15.00.  This year I'm not so sure how I will swing it. My doctor appt. is on Oct. 4th and  I am hoping that she will release me to return to work. I've been going stir crazy and I hate being broke.

On a lighter note: I do have some great posts coming up in the next few weeks though. So keep checking back and don't forget to enter my current giveaways! I'm working on a new post about helping to teach kids self control, a few product reviews, some October crafts and activities, and so much more. Plus, tomorrow you'll get a sneak peek at an upcoming Avon Giveaway: the sponsor asks that I reach a goal of 500 readers in order to host this one though folks, so let's get the word out!
